Almost 600,000 new stationary battery storage systems were installed across Germany in 2024, increasing the country's storage capacity by 50 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary data from the German Solar Industry Association (BSW Solar).
The system will be located in the Foerderstedt district in the Stassfurt municipality and will be able to supply electricity to around 500,000 households for two hours. The facility will be built by subsidiary Eco Power Three GmbH.
The storage sector grew by 50% in 2024, with 600,000 new systems installed, consolidating the country as a European leader in the energy transition. This growth is part of a broader expansion across the continent, where projects exceed 66 GW in operation and an announced capacity.
